£595.00

Original Oil Painting on canvas 56 X 41 cm. The beautiful Cathedral city of Worcester with its university is situated on the banks of the River Severn in Worcestershire, England. Nearby are the picturesque landscapes of the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds. Worcester was the stage on which the final battle of the Civil War was fought, with Oliver Cromwell’s arm defeated King Charles II’s Cavaliers.

This Artwork Is For Sale Unframed

This traditional oil painting scene on canvas is a view of the 12th Century Cathedral from the steps of the R.N.I.B. New College Worcester Watersport's Centre Boathouse, which is located next to the Worcester County Cricket Club grounds. The swans very obligingly posed in just the right place when I was taking the photograph for this artwork.

I tried to captures the essence of Worcester Cathedral, as it standing tall, its Gothic spire piercing the sky and it pointed arches, delicate tracery, and soaring buttresses. In the foreground, a serene river mirrors the cathedral's grandeur. The water's surface forming a canvas for the blue sky and fluffy clouds, creating a harmonious blend. Two elegant and graceful swans glide gracefully along the river, their white plumage contrasting with the verdant surroundings. Their presence adding a touch of tranquility to the scene.  The riverbanks are adorned with lush greenery with a willow dipping its branches into the river. Nature embraces the man-made marvel. On the far riverbank are charming historic buildings—timeworn structures that have witnessed centuries of life. Their warm hues and quaint architecture evoke a sense of continuity.
