Heron Now Gone: Impressionist oil on canvas mounted on a wooden panel image size 40 x 40 cm Size with frame: 69 x 69 cm.  Signed on the front and back by Roger. I painted this from a photograph that I took at Himley Hall – Baggeridge Country Park in South Staffordshire. It shows one of a number of ponds that at the time were carpeted in places with matted pond weed. A single Heron sat on the floating wildlife platform for all but a brief moment before flying off. There was just enough time for me to take the photograph.
